A nephron is the basic structural and functional unit of the kidney. They are the microscopic structure composed of a renal corpuscle and a renal tubule. A nephron is the functional component of the kidney s structure. The term forming urine will be used hereafter to describe the filtrate as it is modified into true urine. The kidney is a structurally complex organ essential for human survival since its embryonic development.[1] Every cell in the renal parenchyma is highly specialized in maintaining electrolyte, volume, and waste homeostasis.
